The IDM Modular DC Drawworks is designed to take advantage of the latest capabilities in brake and control technology including electronic braking, caliper brakes, disc brakes and automatic driller controls.

The IDM MDC series (Modular DC) is the perfect match for IDM SCR drives:

• More compact than conventional drawworks

• Water cooled disc brake

• Smaller and half the weight of the industry standard (55,000 lbs.)

The IDM Modular DC Drawworks utilizes many of the advanced features developed for IDM’s AC drawworks and incorporates them into a high performance DC drawworks that can be used on conventional SCR drilling rigs. The MDC (Modular DC) series of drawworks utilizes IDM’s proven multi speed planetary input gears with integral clutches for extremely quiet and reliable operation. This greatly reduces the size and weight of the drawworks yet provides the multiple gear ratios required in a DC drawworks. Depending on drawworks rating, air cooled caliper brakes or water cooled disc brakes are incorporated. These brakes work with electronic automatic driller controls to provide superior drilling performance and extended bit life.
